The size is generous and the plate is thick and sturdy. I love that it can be used to serve lunch or as a tray for our finger paint projects (only non-toxic and vegetable-based, of course). My little Picasso loves to color and paint so I knew he'd love the design. He constantly points to the crayons and identifies the colors.
