My son loves his crunchy snacks. But I don't love the mess of crumbs they leave behind. I am forever vacuuming up unidentifiable specks of what I can only assume to be days-old Cheerios, Goldfish crackers, pretzel wheels, and Snikiddy Snacks from my living room and car. To combat the problem, we purchased a "spill-proof" snack catcher with rubber panels to keep the bits of food contained. But my ingenious toddler quickly figured out how to lift the flaps and dump its contents onto the floor, car seat, stroller or wherever else he may be. I was ready to give up and accept my fate before I discovered Munchie Mug.
Munchie Mug is an innovative, patent-pending, spill-resistant snack cup for children 10 months and up. It features a 16 oz. jar made of polypropylene plastic and screw-top lid with easy grip handle and a unique, flexible cloth opening that remains closed until your child reaches through for a snack. A solid "stay-fresh" lid is also provided to keep dry goods fresh while the mug is not in use. All parts are made right here in America, are 100% recyclable, BPA and phthalate-free, and top-rack dishwasher safe for easy cleaning.
Witty Works, Inc. was kind enough to send us a Munchie Mug to review.
I was immediately surprised by how large the Munchie Mug was. We could easily fit a cup and a half of Cheerios in there with room to spare. I loved that I wouldn't have to constantly refill it if we were out and about for long periods of time. The plastic was very thick and sturdy to endure those inevitable drops and throws. The fabric closure was very soft to the touch and unlike other designs, was truly spill-free. I could hold it upside down and shake it vigorously and not one bit of food would escape. Awesome! And because the cloth layers overlap, it is highly unlikely Nate will be able to pull his past shenanigans.
When I handed it to him for the first time, he wasn't quite sure about it but once I demonstrated how to work it, he dove right in. The wide handle made it easy for him to carry and the mouth of the cup was large enough for my greedy little monster to stick both of his hands in:
"Munchie" is our new snacktime pal. We don't leave home without him. I love that my car and my home are cleaner, and that Nate can eat his snacks independently. I feel good using a product that is eco-friendly (no more ziploc baggies for travel!) and safe for my baby.
Bottom line: I would highly recommend Munchie Mug as a feeding solution for your infant or toddler. There may be similar contraptions on the market but this one blows them all out of the water. It is spacious, safe, convenient, easy to clean, and its revolutionary design will keep those crumbs from wandering where they don't belong.
