Review and Giveaway: Words To Sweat By CLOSED

You may be wondering why I haven't updated on my fitness progress in a while. That would be because there has been nothing to update as of late. I'm at a standstill. *hangs head in shame* I could make excuses all day long and use the 3 feet of snow that fell on my area as a scapegoat. But the truth is I just lost my mojo. I always start off strong. I tell myself it's going to be different this time. I vow to get off my butt, lose this baby weight and stick to my guns. But even if I do make some progress initially, it doesn't last and I peter out gradually until I'm back at square one. As much as I would love to hire a Mark Wahlberg-lookalike personal trainer to keep me on track, sadly, it is not in our budget, and probably never will be. But I've discovered the next best thing in Words To Sweat By.

Words to Sweat By is a line of motivational towels manufactured by Whimsical Walney right here in the United States. After the consequences of the Consumer Products Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) forced her to stop designing children's clothing, she decided to focus more on "children at heart" and instill humor and motivation into everyday accessories. I mean, what better time to crack a much-needed smile than when the sweat is stinging your eyes? Each towel is appliqued with an original mantra that helps keep you motivated as you work toward your health and fitness goals. Here are some of my favorites:




Whimisical Walney was kind enough to send me a towel to review. Having a major sweet tooth, I couldn't resist the Cupcake towel. Plus, it was pink and we all know I love anything girly.

It came packaged in the sweetest organza bag, tied with a little charm that read "Laugh". I plan to recycle the bag by putting some potpourri in it and displaying it in my bathroom. How very ecological! The charm will go perfectly on my gym bag, for a little pick-me-up during the times I am dreading my workout.



The towel itself is standard terry cloth and measures a generous 16x24. It was more than enough to wipe the sweat from my brow. And neck. And back. Am I the only one who sweats like a fiend? Anyway, the towel was soft and plenty absorbent. The message really helped me to keep going, even when I wanted to give up and throw in the towel. Pun intended! I draped it over the front of my bike so I could stay dry and stay focused. Who wouldn't keep pedaling when you see this in your face?



I have washed my towel in warm water several times after use and it has held up nicely. No fading, fraying or bleeding colors. I am confident it will be by my side through many, many more exercises. Even when I inevitably get fickle and lazy, it will make a great conversation piece!

I can't think of anything I don't like about this product, but I would love to see some workout apparel and other coordinating accessories (gym bags, yoga mats, water bottles, etc.). What can I say? I need all the motivation I can get!

Bottom line: With swimsuit season fast approaching, Words To Sweat By is just the right gift to motivate yourself or your workout buddy. The towels are high-quality, fun, and affordable. I want to get another one just so I can rotate them when one is dirty!
