Review and Giveaway: Patient Style CLOSED

I remember quite clearly my final weeks of pregnancy. I was nesting hardcore, cleaning my apartment on my hands and knees with my monstrous belly helping to buff and polish. I laundered and folded the mountain of tiny, little clothes at least 10 times. Our bags were packed, waiting by the door for the day we would be loading them up to meet our little man for the first time. Some of my friends thought I was going overboard by packing up my own pillows to bring along to the hospital. But I believed taking a few little comforts from home would make me feel more at ease during and after delivery. And I was right. The touch and smell of home from my own pillows made my hospital experience a little more comfortable so I could relax while in labor and catch a few more winks of sleep. Priceless.

Luckily, PatientStyle.com shares my same philosophy:
Going to the hospital is no time to start compromising comfort, quality or style. Patientstyle.com is the perfect place to find gifts for a loved one or yourself, whether you’re planning to welcome a new family member or caring for the ones you have. We’ve searched far and wide – and designed our own exclusive offerings – to bring you the best products out there in one convenient online store. From chic hospital gowns to anti-microbial pillows and products, our site features the most useful, comfortable, and stylish items, designed specifically for what you or your loved one needs. Feeling better means healing faster, and our products make a significant difference when spending time within hospital walls or while healing at home.
Designer maternity gowns are a relatively new concept but I am loving the idea. I remember feeling so swollen and frumpy after my son was born and although I needed those first family photos, I felt less than photogenic. The Window Shopping maternity hospital gown from Peanut Shell (left) would not only make me feel gorgeous, but would be a cherished keepsake. It is 100% cotton for maximum comfort and has side and back snap closures for convenient breastfeeding and maximum coverage. No more baring your booty to strangers! The optional empire waist belt and adjustable arm ties add a stylish flair and ensure the best fit. I can hardly wait to conceive baby #2 so I can reward myself with one of these pretty yet practical gowns. You hear that, ovaries?! Get to work!

I'm also digging the Peanut Shell Walk in the Park collection, with matching nursing cover, sling and swaddle. What a beautiful, gender-neutral print!

In addition to their maternity selection, PatientStyle.com offers pajamas, robes, pillows, pillow cases, slipper socks and gift baskets suitable for any hospital stay, short or lengthy.

We had the pleasure of reviewing his and her slipper socks courtesy of PatientStyle.com.

These soft, chenille lounge socks are enhanced with antimicrobial features so your tootsies remain toasty and bacteria-free. They also have non-skid bottom so, if you have hardwood or tile floors like I do, you won't be slipping and sliding as you walk.

These socks could not have come at a more opportune time. My area was pounded by a huge blizzard that left behind 3 feet of snow and a bitter chill, so layers were very necessary. My husband and I wore our socks all day, everyday for the entire week that we were snowed in. They were super thick and soft but didn't make my feet sweaty or stinky. I liked that because of the upper band, I didn't have to adjust them too much and I loved my powdery pink color. My husband normally doesn't wear anything other than his crew socks so I was surprised to see him put these on willingly - and repeatedly. He too thought they were ultra-comfy, and that's a lot for my manly man to admit!

I've washed my socks twice now on gentle cycle and they have held up well overall. They are still soft as ever. Some of the grips on the bottom have cracked a little from wear but it hasn't affected the fit or functionality at all. My PatientStyle slippers are like a warm, soothing hug for my feet.

Bottom line: Forget the generic hospital gift shop and give yourself or your loved one the gift of high-quality comfort from PatientStyle.com. Whether you're seeking a "push present" or a little token to say "get well", they have that special something to perk up any patient.

BUY IT: You can purchase the slipper socks I received (ARV $15/pair) or other products mentioned above at www.patientstyle.com.

WIN IT: PatientStyle.com is offering one lucky reader his and her slipper socks, just like I reviewed! That's a $30 value!

MAIN COURSE (MANDATORY ENTRY): Visit PatientStyle.com and tell me another item you want and for whom. Remember to please leave your email address in your comment if it isn't visible on your profile to prevent disqualification!

SUGAR ON TOP (BONUS ENTRIES): To maximize your chances of winning, you may do any or all of the following. Be sure to complete the above mandatory entry or your bonus entries will not count! Remember to leave one comment per entry.

1.) Follow my blog and/or subscribe via reader or email. If you already follow and/or subscribe, that counts! (1 entry each)

2.) Follow me and PatientStyle on Twitter and tweet about this contest. You can do this daily! You may use the tweet below or come up with one of your own:

Giveaway will end on March 4, 2010 at 11:59pm EST. Open to U.S. only. Winners will be chosen via Random.org and will have 48 hours to respond to congratulatory email or prize will be forfeited and another winner will be chosen.

Disclaimer: This review was made possible by The Product Review Place. As noted above, I received 2 pairs of slipper socks from Lindsay at PatientStyle.com to facilitate my candid review. I was in no other way compensated for this post. The thoughts and feelings expressed in this review are mine and mine alone. Your experience may differ.
