January Jingles: Elvis 75: Good Rockin' Tonight CLOSED

January 8, 2010 would have marked the 75th birthday of cultural icon, Elvis Presley. The "King of Rock and Roll" remains the best-selling solo artist in history, with record sales topping 1 billion units worldwide. In his lifetime, Elvis was nominated for 14 Grammy Awards, winning 3 of them among numerous other accolades. He won a Lifetime Achievement Award at age 36 and has been inducted into 4 music halls of fame.

From gospel and rockabilly to pop ballads and blues, Elvis' versatility is incomparable, his vocal style timeless. His stunning good looks and energetic (his gyrations were notably considered provocative and controversial at that time) stage performances made him a sex symbol and national celebrity. More than 30 years after his death, he is still revered. His Graceland home is a tourist attraction that hosts over 600,000 visitors a year, second only to the White House. Many have tried but no one has been able to achieve the level of stardom of Elvis Presley.

In commemoration of his milestone birthday, Sony Music Entertainment has released a 4-CD set spanning Presley's entire recording career, including hit singles, rarities and live performances. Elvis 75: Good Rockin' Tonight contains 100 songs in chronological order, from his very first demo in 1953 to a 2002 posthumous, chart-topping remix. This comprehensive box set also includes a deluxe 80-page booklet with rare photography and a 7,000 word biographical essay. A compilation that documents and celebrates the evolution of America's very first "rock star", Good Rockin' Tonight is a must-have for any hardcore Elvis fan.

In addition to the boxed set, Sony Music is also releasing a single disc version with 25 of The King's greatest hits.
