First of all, let me thank you for visiting my new blog! You may be coming from my personal blog, Sticky But Sweet, from Twitter or through word of mouth. Regardless of how you got here, I hope you find it a fun place to be and will hang out indefinitely!
I want to start out by formally introducing myself. My name is Kristen. I'm a 26-year old SAHM to my 1-year old son, Nate, and wife to my hard-working husband, Rob. We live in the beautiful state of Maryland. I've lived here all of my life but Rob is a native of Georgia. I love the southern gentleman in him even though I've "yankee-ized" him a bit.
I began blogging in 2006 after we were married and were trying to conceive. I had suffered an early miscarriage and felt incredibly alone. My blog was my escape - my way of journalizing my feelings that no one else seemed to understand. Little by little, I found other women in my shoes and slowly but surely, we became a community. As my journey to parenthood got darker with countless reproductive endocrinologist appointments, pills, shots, bloodwork and yet another miscarriage, I strengthened my support system. I was able to educate myself from others' experiences and found shoulders I could lean on as I rode the infertility rollercoaster. Our ride came to an end when our third pregnancy turned out to be the charm. In July 2008, our miracle was born.
I continue to blog about parenting after infertility. A much lighter topic, I must confess. And someday in the future, we hope to be blessed with more children. But I am still an infertility advocate and remain passionate about helping others as they board the rollercoaster I was once trapped upon.
I struggled so hard to have a baby and now that he is here in my arms, I want to give him the best of everything. I am constantly researching products and I love to try new things - especially for Nate. Between my marketing degree and my husband's engineering degree, we love to pick things apart! I openly share my opinions with all of my friends and many of them consider me the go-to person regarding anything "baby". So, I hope to merge my love of blogging with my love of research for this review and giveaway blog, Goodie Goodie Gumdrops. I will provide you with honest feedback on products and services and hope you find the content valuable as you make buying decisions for you or your family.
This site is still in its infancy and will likely change as its grows to meet the needs of its audience - YOU!
